Tall guys and Spidgets

As you all probably know, I'm in the market for a nice Spridget. My question here deals with driver comfort, or lack thereof.

I've owned three GT6s and found the cockpit to be small, but in no way uncomfortable. I like the stock seats if they've been rebuilt, too. So, I'm used to a small LBC cockpit. BTW, I'm 6'2" and about 195 lbs. with a 33 inch inseam.

Regarding Spridgets, I know the cockpit is small. My problem has been with the seat not going far enough aft. Is there a way to move the seat rails aft in order to obtain more driver distance and legroom?

Are there other remedies for tallish folks to get more legroom??

I am also 6'2" and weigh about 180. My inseem is 34". I fit well into my bugeye. Once I am in there seems to be plenty of leg room. Again its just a matter of getting into the car, of course I am 29 years old so that makes it easy. The furthest I have driven the car yet is 15 miles but I have spent a lot of time sitting in the seat trying to sort out electrical problems in the dash. Actually werent donald and geoff healey both over six feet tall? Makes since that they would design a car they could fit in.
Oh by the way hows the weather in C-ville? I lived there for eight years of college.

Six feet, 230 lbs, 30 in seam. fit just fine. Only prob is my left knee is steel so I have to go slow to get in with that leg.

Sit down, both feet out. Bend right leg and turn in seat passing right knee under the wheel. Bend left knee and twist leg in, close door. Crank engine and listen to her sing. Lots of room in there.

JWUVA05: weather is good, typical VA stuff for this time of year.

Jack, that's good to hear. I've driven enough Spridgets over the years, didn't think there was any significant problem with leg room. Never drove one for more than 20 minutes or so, though.

I'm looking at a nice Midget on the Charlotte NC craigslist, guy's sending photos.

Looks good. :yesnod:

I'm 6'1", 200#, 34" inseam, and fit reasonably well. Feels more roomy than than the TR4 I owned previously, and also noticeably more than the TR3 I test drove. The leg room and foot room is very decent -- my wide feet (size 13 extra wide) make many LBCs difficult to drive, but the Bugeye works well. My longest drive was about 40 miles so far, with no comfort issues.

I will be switching to a 14" (or so) steering wheel, which should improve things even more. One of those things where that extra inch or so you pick up over the stock wheel would be very noticeable.

Do keep in mind that the later cars with wind up windows have a bit less elbow room.
