Talk about rare.......

Sweeeeet! Only thing that would've had me pushing the buy it now button would have been if it was a turbo model.

In some cases "Rare" does NOT equal "Desireable"

I just keep wondering who these people are that buy cars that never get driven.

In this case the car never got sold.....except to the current owner...but he didn't register it so is it still considered a Non Owner car? LoL

funny, that's what my wife said about me :jester:

JP, is my wife and your wife related???!!!!

What did one of these collector items sticker for new? I wonder if there was any appreciation in his investment?

I'll bet the door hinges are still rusted.

A girlfriend of mine bought one of those when they were brand new. Less than 30 miles on it and the hinges were creaking from rust. Even here in dry Colorado.

In this case, maybe "rare" should be considered i the gastronomic sense...ie: uncooked!

Actually the surviving Yugo's are considered collectable by collectors of Italian cars (as the origins of the car are Italian after all)

When I attended Italian car meets in upstate New York (ca. 2002), there were always three Yugo's there... a cabriolet (like the one on E-Bay), a race car, and one standard sedan version...

I believe there will always be a small collectors market for the more oddball vehicles like Yugo's, they will never fetch top dollar but there are collectors attracted to the more unusual.

Anyway... The Cabriolet on E-Bay will be heading to a new home apparently, so someone cares...

I actually liked it.

Someone who cares $9100 worth! It coulden't have been anywhere near that new.
I have to say in one sense it's pretty neat. Prperly it should find a home in a museum somewhere (please get it off the street)heheheehe But it ain't sumpin I'd pay much for.
I do like the easily missed detail in his description
"it'll do 0-60 in 13 seconds" he should add: "if it's dropped off a cliff" hehehehe.

Ben that about sums it up.

Isn't 26 miles pretty much the life of a Yugo?

Someone bought it so I need to change the name of this posting from "rare" to "stick a fork in it, it's DONE!" LoL

It should be "rare and silly". Just because something has a short production run doesn't make it desirable. IMHO. Just look the Crosley, didn't make many of them and not to many people are hunting them down.

I beg to differ on the Crosley (in terms of collectable interest), you'd be surprised how many people would buy one these days... The same goes for other oddball cars, there are some collectors who seek out the less obvious vehicles... Often these "orphan's" are cars with very little real value or future value, but there are collectors who go for the more unusual... Just what I've seen and observed in the collectible hobby.

These more unusual cars are a piece of tangible history, no matter how humble they may be, and I feel it's important to have them around and not just in a scrapyard or rusting away in a field.

Just my two cents...

That one is a solid $1000 car WITH the parts cars he mentions. The convertible was a nice car though.
