Progress may be slow but in the right direction.

I'm wiring in the taillights. Two questions:

- should there be a black wire grounding the taillight housing to the body? I'm thinking yes, but can't find any such wire in my old parts pile, and don't see an obvious attachment point on the body.

- what is the purpose of the 1" hole in the body tub just in front of the taillight? There's one on each side and they are open to the gap
between the tub and the fenders. The wires for the taillights run up under the inner fender on the tub, not through these gaps. Is one of these holes for the wires to the license plate lamps?

Thanks very much,

Cliff

Yes, my license plate wiring goes through those holes.. And I don't recall a wire from the tail light lense to the body to ground them.

Yes there is a seperate grounding wire on each lamp that goes up to the harness by the tank.
Use di-electric grease on each bullet and fresh connectors, you will be amazed at the way
Lucas can work when set up right !!!

Thanks for the reply. Where does the ground wire attach to the lamp? Under one of the nuts, I assume? I found the harness connector for the other end.
