Does anyone know how much difference there is in the early style tail lamps and the later style? I have a 74 mgb and like the earlier rounded tail lamps. Without modifying the car can I install the earlier lenses? I dont mind modifying the lenses.
 
I believe you have to change the entire tail lamp assembly, but as far as I know there is no difference in the body, mounting holes, etc. Should be a straight swap. I may have a couple used early bases if you need them. Might have some used lenses also. Email me if interested.
 
thank you steve. I have rebuilt a mg and am now putting it back together. (I've posted a picture in the members rides area, I'm quite proud of it.) I will be needing bases and lenses. I am interested.
 
I will see what I have. I'm heading north in the morning for GoF 2005 but will return in a couple days. I'll try to find the parts as soon as I can.
