Tachometer Repair

Happy Holidays -

I had the polarity changed back to positive ground on my BJ8 and the tachometer stopped working. My mechanic doesn't really work w/ gauges either. I did some research and found that the white wire loop behind the tach needs to be reversed.

The wire was taken off by the mechanic and I never paid any attention to it beforehand to see how it should be placed. Does anyone have a picture or a good description how it should correctly look? Also, does anything else need to be done for it to function again?

Thanks for the assistance!

This old thread should have what you are lookin' for.

I finally sent mine to Nisonger. They replaced the guts of the tach with solid state electronics, which now work with negative ground and, importantly, Pertronix ignition. Not cheap, but well worth the price.
