I am the owner of a MG Midget mk1 of 1963.
The original tach RV 12401 doesn't work, so I bought another one on Ebay.
This one doesn't work either.
It's a RVC 2415/01af and I am searching for a circuit diagrams so that I can repair this one.
Does anyone have a diagram for this type, and what is the best way for install it, because I have a positive ground car. I thought that it was simple because this one doesn't work with a loop of the white wire but straight to the ignition coil instead. It works but shows 6500 RPM while the engine is running on 800 RPM
I hope you can help me whit this.

I'm a bit surprised... you say that the tach you bought was an RVC. I thought all the RVC tachs were for negative ground and you've installed it in a positive ground car?

I've never seen anything on converting an RVC tach from negative to positive ground but here are a few of the links I have for the RVC tach:

There isn't a lot of info on the RVC tachs as they are "later" and they tend to be less problematic. If you really want to stick with the positive ground I think your choices are very limited on what will work. Somewhere I have links for rebuilding the RVI tach. If you want to keep the positive ground it may be easier for you to completely rebuild and calibrate your old gauge rather than trying to make the RVC tach work.
