Does anyone recognize this? It's a 4" cable drive Smiths that was in a Bugeye I bought. The hidden numbers are RN2351/03.
Thanks,
Jeff

Looks like a Austin Healey 3000 tach

Mark

The Bugeye runs a 3:1 tach too, Dave, but the number is RN2351/02. It looks like the same tach, but with a different face.
I just hate to be sitting on something that someone has a potential use for. I now have the correct instrument for the little car.
Thanks,
Jeff

bugeye, without checking out the numbers its exactly like the one in my 1963 bj7. used in the 3000's up till bj8 series when changed to a black face. definitely austin healey, theres one on ebay right now. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

Dave, I just found it on the British Miles website. Fits 100-6 & 3000 from Sept. '58 to Sept. '62.
I'm a dummy when it comes to the big cars.
Still want one, though.
Jeff

The faith is there, Anthony, I just wanted to verify the numbers.
Well, now I've got the tach, only 25,467 parts left to go! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Hi Jeff;

If you want to check out Smiths components on the Big Healey and on Sprites, the AHCSO has the results of research I did a number of years ago posted on it’s web site [ https://www.ahcso.com/ ]. Check out the following.

Big Healey
https://www.ahcso.com/TechTalk/Smiths%20Parts%20List-Austin%20Healey%20Big.pdf

Sprite
https://www.ahcso.com/TechTalk/Smiths%20Parts%20List-Austin%20Healey%20Sprite.pdf

Oh yes, tachometer RN 2351/03 is for the Austin Healey 3000 from 1959 to 1962 with a BMC part number of 1B9188

So Jeff

What are you going to do with this Tach?

Mark

Why Mark, build a Healey around it, what else! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
I really have no idea what I'm going to do with it. I just needed to find out what it fit.
Why, do you need one?
Jeff
