Tach help

Got a bouncing tachometer in my Bugeye. I am going to put in a new cable,, but I am pretty sure it is the tachometer itself. Can anyone suggest a good, reasonably priced shop they could recommend?

Palo Alto and Nisonger are the ones usually mentioned.

Were it me, I'd go down an electronic conversion route like this:

Can't say it's the most cost-effective route, but it's likely to be more reliable. It's how I will go when I get there with my Bugeye.

has a little hysteresis so the needle doesn’t bounce has a mordern tach response
