Tach cable

quick question and i know its goonna sound stupid, where does the tach cable go ?

One end goes to the tach!
On early sprites, the other goes to a gear box on the rear of the generator.

Because i"i couldn't get my tach to work with the loop/induction way, I wired it right to the coil.

Its not a dumb question I had to figure it out too at one time. This little thing screws onto the back of the generator. https://mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=29377#9
Then the cable screws on that and then into the back of the tach. You can probably get the part cheaper here. https://atlantaimported.com/home.htm just type in the part number
