Hey Guys, 'sorry I missed Round Rock. That was going to be my "coming out" party, where I was going to meet alot of you TR folks.
Here is the update. It is only talk, as I have to wait until payday before I can think about doing anything. I told you that Ed, my mechanic, suspects that I have fried a couple of valve guides - again - when I dieseled the motor for that short period after my two 15-minute drives to/from my upholstery shop.
A fellow TR3B owner tells me that there is no way I could have done this if I still have water and oil in the engine, that the engine could not have gotten that hot. (I have both oil and water.) He suspects that I am not getting sufficient oil down into the guides. With that in mind, I pose this question:
HOW MUCH OIL IS SUPPOSED TO COME OUT THE LITTLE HOLES ON THE VALVE TRAIN WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING?

I have a very little bit that oozes out the 4 (or 8?) sets of holes along the valve train. Conversely, I remember a high school friend's Chevy six that shot so much oil out of the oil supply pipe than he had to attached a hose to it to keep it from shooting oil all over the place when the valve cover was off.
Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
