Just found this message on the BBS forum about changing starters. Use caution and make sure the new starter matches the ring gear!

The 8" clutch flywheel has 120 teeth and a 9 tooth
Bendix.
The 7.25" flywheel has 93 teeth and a 10-tooth Bendix.
They are not interchangeable and will chew the teeth.
