There is the MG forum which seems geared towards A&B & the Spridget list for Midgets & Sprites. Why not a seperate list for the T Series owners?
Kinda new here so this may have been covered.

The UK board covers the TD and TF and the TABC list covers the earlier cars. Any time another forum has tried to start a new T section it has failed. I'd love to see a modern forum for these cars but T owners don't seem to be willing to give up the old, outdated ones.

This forum is appropriate for all MGs - just put the model in the subject when you post. If we ever get to the point that we have a large number of T-owners we could braek it out, but don't think we're there yet. Of course Bs are the dominant force here just due to numbers, but that doesn;t preclude others from posting here. Its an MG (all) forum.

That's kind of why I figured there wasn't much traffic on "T" stuff here. I attended a bunch of T events in the 70's and there was a huge following and I figured that they all were a) restored and not being used much and b) the demographic for T owners might be a little, shall we say, less-computer-friendly at this point. (no offense please) On that note it kinda goes back to the theory that people obsess on the cars they loved when they turned 16. Ford "T"'s went through the roof in the 50's and 60's and now you can get em for half the price. Now everyone is driving Goats and Chargers to the 50K+ range because that was the object of lust when we were in high school.

Of course that theory goes flying out the roof for me.... I don't see a lot of people my age lusting after Dodge Omnis and K cars....The American auto industry's lost decade... Who knows. Maybe in another 10 years everyone in their 50's will be restoring their "Back to the Future" 4wd Toyota pickups.

But I'm glad to see there is a MGT following still - That's the car I'll be searching out some day since that's what I took my driving test in. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

In high school my "car lust" was a 1960 TR3A, while most of my friends wanted Chevies and Fords. So, 35 years later I had to get that "project TR", which was in pieces and happened to be a TR3B. This site is great for TR3 posts. Last year I got a driver MGTD because a red MG, probably a TC got me into LBC's a long time ago. Maybe after a few years of driving it I will work on it. While I check this site regularly, there is not much on T-Series, I do get a lot of helpful hints for my TR.

I believe I saw a 1960 TR3A for sale the other day. Being an LBC guy I stopped to chat & car was in remarkable shape. Was in storage for 22 years. $5K. Not a TR guy but great find.
Same owner since 1964. Very original condition.

I've wanted a TC since I was 14....Back then I had my MGA and all the MG clubs were dominated by the T-series cars....I wanted one soooo bad, took me over 35 years to get one, now I'am just about ready to lift the tub off the frame.

Actually the T-ABC list is very active. I get between 20 and 50 posts per day sent to my inbox. And that's just the early ones! The TD and TF forum at the UK site is nearly as busy but their TA-TC forum is completely dead for the same reason that no other T-Series forums ever work. The TABC list is far too established.

Also, there are a ton of T-Series cars being restored out there. You mainly see fully restored examples at shows because there seems to be very few cars that are rough drivers. They are either restored or complete basket cases being otrn down in someone's garage.

Hey now! My TD is quite a bit older than I. I may be on one end of the demographic bell curve, but there's a cycle typically. Lots of 16 year-olds today lust after classic Detroit muscle. Of course you have to be a bit of a loon to own a LBC (no offense intended). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It's funny but somewhat true that the older members of the club are into T series and and as they get younger veer towards the midgets. I for one and a younger guy (I'd like to think so anyway) and love the lines of the TD. I also love the lines of the GT and the midget. heck I like all MG's!
Where is the T-ABC list? Is it the BBS?

As I get older, I am doing the opposite,

Basil, can you set up a P series forum as well? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Heck, I talk to myself anyway. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If anyone could provide information on pre war car forums, parts etc, please pm me, it would be greatly appreciated. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

.... a TP forum?

I dare not ask what the discussions in there would be about... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif yeah... I realized that right after I showed how smart I was... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The TABS list is a Yahoo Group. There is currently no better resource in the world.

TABC list is here: https://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/mg-tabc/

TABC Web Site is here: https://www.mg-tabc.org/

For pre-war MGs, the TABC list can be good as well as many members own other pre-war cars such as MMM, P-Type, etc. Yet another good source of information is the MG SVW list. It mainly covers SVW cars but these cars share technology with other pre-war cars.

For the SVW list go here: https://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/MGSVW/
