Just spent a lot of time trying to find a link. It seems to me that recently (I'm thinking the last month or so) - maybe around the $50 paint discussions, someone posted a link to a site that had pics a Spridgets painted blue with white stripes like a Cobra as well as one white with blue stripes - does this ring a bell for anyone?

thanks
JP

Think I saw that as well but don't have a copy, might have been on Cragslist.

Do you mean this photo?

The thread is here.

I think that might be one if the cars but I seem to recall that the link was given in an engine (maybe even non-spridget engine) related discussion. Thanks for what has been provided though. (and it may not even have been these boards)

yes it was - is there a link with it (Thanks!)

fantastic - thanks

I think the spridget with the jag motor also has a similar paint scheme. Can't find that link though.

Looks sweet, and apart from the louves and bulge it looks pretty standard from the outside which I love!

I've got the link to that one. The other one is this (one of my favourite ever) You may have figured out that the theme here is not engine but stripes. I had intially planned to get the same stripe as the Jag powered car but then my beloved suggested that I might get tired of it and to just paint it a solid colour. However, last Sunday I went to the Ancaster Show & Swap Meet and while there were only a few spridgets there, there were many B's and TR6's. I'll be honest, they all started to look bland after a row or two in part because they were all only original colours. It was as though the originality factor had superceded the fun factor. All of which is bringing me back to the idea of stripes (the rest will be Old English White) just to make it unique and liven it up.

Thoughts?

PS another idea is Vinyl stripes, then I can remove them if I'm tired of them

That car belongs to Dominic Valentino. He's on spritespot quite a bit, lives down in the LA area. I'm really hoping to see that car in person some day, he did quite an amazing job on it.

Judson supercharged 948 as well. Cool.

Needless to say, I am a big proponent of vinyl stripes (I do a lot of that for a living!) As you say, they have the great advantage of being removable and unless they have been on for too long, will not affect your paint finish (left on too long, paint under the vinyl will not fade as the rest of the car does, and will leave a shadow!).
Here is a similar stripe I did for a friend recently

Didn't realize you did that. Looks great!

here the are my questions.

1. How do you deal with it as it approaches rubber seals? Do you slide it under?

2. How do you deal with it in terms of wash & wax?

3. How long is too long?

4. How much does it cost?

TIA

We'll be racing against that white Midget this weekend at the Mitty at Road Atlanta. These stripes are vinyl, we needed to do something to it to wake the black paint
