It has been a while since I was in an auto parts store. I was needing oil and went to O'Reilly's. I saw Syntec there, but it was labeled O'Reilly's.. I thought Syntec was Castrol's brand. Can someone enlighten me? Is it the same as the Castrol or is it a totally different oil?

I would like to know that too, since I have used Castrol for many years.

With seven vehicles, four are Royal Purple. Might move from Castrol if it pans out. Still using the brake fluid, waiting on that too.

Interesting, but is O'Reilly syntec the same as the Castrol? Or did O'Reilly just purchase the name and uses their own formulation?
Looks like maybe Castrol is dropping the "Syntec" name; I see only three brands on their website: GTX, GTX Magnatek, and Edge
