Sway bar bushings

I have the "hard" bushings, not the rubber ones to be replaced on my front sway bar on my TR250. The old rubber type ones you could "deform" enough to slip over the end of the bar. No go with the new ones. Short of cutting them to put over the bar, i dont see how else it can be done? Any ideas out there?

thanks,
Mitch

Hard, as in urethane or nylon? I think I just lubed mine up with dish soap, and lubed my brain with a few good IPA's...and let the battle begin.

Don't some of them have a slice down through them so you can open them to wrap around the bar?

<span style="color: #660000">Doug,

I slit mine on one side to wrap around.

Put them in some hot water. Then with a little dish soap they slip right over. Very easy.

OK, hot water and dish soap it is. I will save the IPA's for when I am "triumphant"
Once again, thanks for the info....

Wait a minute !!!!!
Isn't that Phil's Avatar???

It's just a stock one from the site. I haven't figured out how to upload an avatar yet.

5 minute soak in a bowl of boiling water, bit of dish soap on the bar and they just slipped right on over.
Another job done, only about 300 more to go!
