MGB Swapping to dual SU on later MGB with brake booster

My other recent thread explains the problems my friend is having with a Mikune carb on his MGB LE.

I happen to have an extra set of dual SUs off of a '70 GT, and we've discussed swapping them on. They're a little tired, but were off of a running parts car (the same parts car that donated the engine I'm currently trying to get refreshed). I've got the full carb and manifold setup.

A couple questions if we go down this route:

1. Brake booster, is there an air filter that we know would fit?

2. Brake booster vacuum line?

Anything else I need to think about before we try this swap? Looks like the fuel line and choke/throttle cables shouldn't be a problem.

Carb in question:

Hey, Drew -

I believe there's a K&N tapered filter that will fit. And there's a filter offered by Moss that uses a sort of manifold with the filter located forward of the carbs. They're both in their Performance section of the catalog, pp A45 & A46 in the catalog I'm looking at.

Later model intake manifold should have a port for the booster.

Thanks, Mickey. I'll have to get a pic of the intake that I have, and see if it has that port for the booster. New territory for me.

If the SU manifold is a 12H1398 it has a blanking plug at the front, suitable for fitting a booster line.

Here's the intake that I have, came off a '70 GT.

Looking from the carb side, the angled port with the plug on the right side appears to be a good take-off for the booster.

Thanks, Doc. I was eyeing that one myself. We're going to try to clean out the existing Mikuni carb, but if that fails these will be going on.
