Swallow Doretti on Ebay

I hope someone on this forum buys this. Wish I could...

Very rare and a great project. If my TR2 wasn't in my shop I'd take a swing at this one.

Here's some info on the Doretti from Wikipedia. They only made 276 cars, including ONE fixed head coupe. Wonder where that one is? These defintely are some rare cars. A little homely looking though. There is a Prototype floating around that has a lot more appeal. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Edit: Be sure to click on the external links from the wiki page. Some really great info there, including which countries a 178 of these cars are located. Maybe this one on e-bay is sort of a barn find and not included on that list.

Edit again: On the first external link from wiki, there is a search by chassis number option, and "1240" does not show up. This car apparently is unknown to the Doretti community, or at least to the guy operating the Doretti website.

Contact Tom Householder through TRA. I think he still lives in Ohio. He owns 3 or 4 of them.

Doug; I've not heard anything from Tom in a very long time. What did he do with the Francorchamp TR2 "Thats real interesting" oh and don't forget the TRuck.

...and likely as not, Tom knows the eBay car and most of the other survivors (and maybe even a good number of those that didn't survive)! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Who could ever forget the TRuck! There is a picture of it circling MidOhio at the Triumph 40th anniversary celebration Sprint Vintage Races on the bulletin board at TRF.
As for the Francorchamp, I don't know.
I haven't seen him in a couple years myself. I'm sure I'll see him soon, now that his name popped up.
