Any suggestions as what to use for a sanding block to maintain the correct shape of the bevel between the upper and lower door and fender surfaces. I have the gaps around the doors fitting very nicely but due to some damage on the front of the door area I am having trouble lining the fender to the door. I am finding that shaping even a small amount of bondo to this area extremley difficult. I was thinking of some sort of block with the shape of the bevel would be helpful but so far I haven't found anything that seems to fit. Any IDEAS??????? Thanks Bob
 
Shape a wood sanding block to exactly fit the contour that you want. Make very sure that the front door gap is large enough to give "swing" clearance. The jogged door contour requires more space to clear than it would first appear.

As you say, this isn't a good place for filler.

blueridge, dave russell gives you good advice here, mind you im not a body/fender guy but i think youll find "bondo" will stick much better on a clean dry roughed metal surface much better then it can stick to a primed/painted area especially when it has to be sanded way down thin./bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif
 
Thanks guys, I'am considering tapping the lowest point up with a flat puch of some sort. The line v's downward slightly where the door meets the fender. It's not alot but it's holding me up from painting the car. Bob
