This weekend was the SVRA Mid-Ohio Grand Prix. This was my first time on this track and wow it is a beauty, with a long straight and well linked-up turns. Here's a link to the first two laps of today's Group 1 feature

It was threatening rain about 30 minutes before our 11:00 AM start, then looked like it was clearing so no one put on rain tires (I don't have them anyway!). Shortly into the second lap it started to rain and I was amazed how it immediately became extremely slick, perhaps because the line is very polished.

In any case I lifted and you'll see the red mini pass me just as the starter throws up a yellow. We wound up running a few more laps under double yellow then they flagged us in and that was fine with me.

It was a miserable 30 minutes, but what an afternoon!
Enjoyed the video.

Mid Ohio is a very slippery track in the wet, the secret, and fast way around in the wet is stay off the cement patches, the one in the key hole, for sure will reach up and get you.

Somewhere in this pile I call home are photos of a Brumos Porsche with daylight under all four as it goes unsprung there at Mid-Ohio. Amazing course.
