Suspension Torque

Hi All

are there any torque recommendations for the suspension? I'm thinking specifically of front A-arm/lower spindle and rear ubolts.

I've just done new polyurethane pads in the rear suspension with Moss lowering kit. I can keep tightening the rear ubolts but I'm just squishing the pads. When do I stop?

thx in advance

Darren

Any repair manual will list these specs, but off the top of my head I believe the A-arm nuts are 45 lbs/ft. The U-bolts are not so tight that you break them, but tight enough to keep the axle from moving. I've never seen a factory torque spec on these.

And...the U-bolts should be checked a couple of times after install (several hunder miles between checks) for taughtness.

It'll be kinda evident if they're too loose: the back-end will shift around on power application requiring steering correction. NOT a good thing.

I've seen the U-bolts worn half-way thru the "U" due to neglect or ignorance.
