Surrey "Targa" Top

Any opinions about those fiberglass backlight "Surrey/Targa" frames available from Rimmer Brothers, Revington TR, etc.?

Once in a blue moon an original steel item appears on Ebay for a fortune, but I wonder about the fiberglass ones. Does the plexiglass fade and look bad over time? Do they paint up like steel?

Does a Surrey/Targa top mean that the entire soft top frame assembly has to be removed? What about the chrome rear deck finisher?

Opinions? Expressions of deep disgust? thx

Re: Surrey "Targa" Top

I think there have been a variety of vendors for the aftermarket backlights, so opinions will vary. I've heard very good things about Revington's setup, it can even come with a very neat integral rollbar. Paint-wise, I think they look very good, I've seen one and it was nice. But even those will be pricey

If you want to take your chances, there's an original on ebay now, but I'm betting it breaks $2k again.
