When getting ready to paint my TR3 I found some missing parts and a neat little pocket knife in my door when I took the door panel off. Aside from the normal hairpins, shriveled french fries, loose change and old receipts, I've never really found any real gems in my cars. Anybody find some fun or valuable stuff in trunks, doors, under seats, etc?

My B was built in late '64 and a '65 model. When I opened up the door to do some maintenance about 10 years ago, I found a 1964 US nickel barely visable through a layer of crud. Obviously it wasn't put there by a factory worker since it's US currency but I've kept it ever since. It had been in there a very long time based on how hard it was stuck to the door metal and the amount of stains on it.

I found a really nice craftsman ratchet in the trunk of my 68 Galaxie when I got it home from the sellers a few years back.

Most interesting find though, no lie, many years ago when tearing apart the interior of my 72 Chevy Nova I found a pair of womens underwear stuffed under the back seat. I was running wiring for a new set of rear speakers and found them under there. Fortunately my girlfriend at the time was not around, or else I'd be stuck trying to explain that.

We've found all kinds tools in the trunck of old cars, a few cassette tapes, couple pairs of sunglasses, an old map and I am sure alot more that I just can't remeber.
Recently we bought a 99 Jag XK8 that had two brand new decks of casino cards, a gold pin, and a box of tic-tacs....and haven't even looked under the seats yet!

Found a pack of cigarettes under the seat of my old Midget, and some old road flares in the trunk. Found a brand new grille badge for the MGB under its seat, with a magnet glued to the back. Dad has it stuck to a filing cabinet in his office.

Recently found a ticket stub in the center console of my Miata, from a late showing of "High Fidelity" the weekend it came out.

Not car related but it happened this weekend... I bought a used VCR at an estate sale for $5 that the owner swore it was in working condition. For $5 I took a gamble. Set it up Saturday night and discovered a tape already in the machine, a porn tape the title of which I can't post here. My wife and I had a really good laugh. And to top it off, there was a sticker on it.."Be Kind, please Rewind". I guess it was a rental.

Inside the front fender of the TR3, along with a ton of beach sand, was a dentist's tool. Bumper had an old sticker from the Navy (I think) hospital in Bethesda, so may be a clue to former owner.

Bought a Bugeye new in '61, and put a half dollar piece in the door pocket in order to get a couple gallons of gas if times got real bad. Found it 30 years later.

My buddy AJ has the be-all-end-all in "found" stories. He's owned a 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser for ten years. A few years ago, he went to button up a rear interior panel that had always been somewhat loose.

He removed the screw, I think to replace it, and he looked behind the panel to find...

a rather large...ummm...dildo (can I say that on the forum? I can't think of any other synonym -- maybe "synthetic male member alternative?")

I believe AJ just left it behind the panel, kind of like a timecapsule!

Went to a junkyard yesterday and found a fresh MGB there. In the trunk was a garbage bag with a new convertible top and new carpet kit. When I got it home and looked at the cool stuff I found paperwork with it saying it's for a Spitfire. Probably will put the stuff on ebay.

I used to have a 1994 Toyota 4Runner. I had the 4Runner in the Toyota Service Department because the check engine light kept coming on. This was about the sixth visit to the service department and they still could not figure out why the light was coming on. I left upset as usual and on the way home noticed a rattle under the hood. I stopped at a convenience store and raised the hood. In the front of the radiator laid a 2 foot long screwdriver. It is still in my toolbox.
