Hooooo-weee! It sure has been hot here in DC this week. It hit triple digits three days in a row. To really give us the full monty, our power went out Wednesday afternoon, and stayed off until Thursday afternoon. Sure made sleeping difficult on Wednesday night, but on the bright side, it was a good excuse to clean out the fridge and freezer.

Bill: it's been a cool mid 90's today, but mon - thu were above 100. only mad dogs and Englishmen, etc.

I helped the wife clean out the freezer - starting with the ice cream and Italian water ice! mmmmmmmm

I hear you guys, same weather down here.

Too hot for motorcycling or roadster-ing. Anything without A/C is verboten.

Too hot to drive the roadster! :yesnod:

That's a typo, it's properly spelled, "roaster".

:jester:

...the d melted.

Said 104 deg on the car thermometer today until it rained and dropped 3o degrees. Spent the day on the gulf in my boat. It was hot there too.

Been here for years without A/C... 98°F with humidity to match.

I LOVE it.

Call me twisted.

... All in favor of outlawing A/C and automagic transmissions, too. Florida would return to th' Floridians. :jester:

I got GUNS an' screens. All set.

Doc:
If you take back Florida, let me know.
I "will" be there

Dave

C'mon DOWN!!!

You want a "roaster" - drive a MkI Mini in this heat! Those sliding side windows offer NO ventilation! Talk about a human toaster oven on wheels!!

... I think you did a few tours too many. :jester:

I can't belive you live w/o a/c down there. What does Mitz say about that?

We're acclimated. I blow th' hatches overnight and have fans to haul the 75° air thru th' hovel. It stays reasonably cool during the day that way. Trees cover the property and shade the place, too. Jungle for a back yard... "Florida Xerascape" inna front.
Whatever volunteers to grow gets to stay, a "lawn" is off the schedule.

I grew up a stone's throw from DC. I have to admit, it usually is hotter there than here from mid-July through August. Unfortunately Florida weather absolutely sucks from May until mid-October - at least in comparison. I'd trade this dumpy weather for DC (sans July/August) any time.

Okay Doc, you're twisted. Used to live in balmy Florida. Like New Mexico better. Daughter called to say the creek in the back of her house swelled with all the rain, flooded her pastures and turned her front yard into a living breathing pond. Even had fish in it. Truth! She lives in Okeechobee and this was after the town spent major monies to correct the drainage problem. At least it dried out in 3 days.
