I did the spinner treatment to the superlites on the 74 1/2 GT. Not a bad project. I think it gives it a bit of a retro look. Bob

I got a extra set of those Spinners machined and ready to fit the MGB Superlites, should ayone be interested, PM me.
 
Afraid I'm not a fan, given that they look obviously fake.

My old American Racing mags also used to come with cosmetic spinners (which we couldn't use in races anyway) and they never looked anything but tacky to me.

To each his own, of course.

Heck, I have had people accuse my Twin Cam or Deluxe of having the same sort of wheel because the nuts that hold the pegs to the Dunlop steel wheels look like lug nuts.
 
Yes to the trained eye they are fake. I also have them on a set of Saab wheels on my 72 MGB and got questions about my knock off wheels. As you say, To each his own. The choice is spinners or the factory chrome dome.
 
I'm not big on the spinners either, but if someone likes them, whatever makes you happy, but I'll take fake spinners over a splined hubs and the headache and expense that come from them wearing out anyday, when was the last time you heard anyone having to replace a bolt on wheel hub, again each to their own.
 
I reckon they look pretty good, would'nt mind a set for my superlites when I fit them. How are they fitted?
 
Eric, There are 3 allen head set screws from the back side of the adaptor and the spinner screws on. There is also a spot for a set screw in the spinner. Bob
