Superformance built Healeys and E-type?

With Superformance building such fantastic factory reproductions of the Cobra, Corvette and Gt 40 in various original forms true to the originals in great detail, I had to wonder if certain models of the Austin Healey and E-Type where far behind? The particular models i had in mind where the 100M, big 2 seater Healeys, Series 1 E-types and there varients in factory race form. Now, I know that Superformance has been building fantastic cars under License for some time now, and came into agreement with people like Carol Shelby and others to build and sell high preformance racing icons such as the Gt 40, Cobra and factory race prepaired corvette built in great detail right down to the spot welds on the frame and metal body panels on the Gt 40.

Not long ago i contacted Lance Stander at Superformance and posed some questions, not all which i am at liberty to say at this time. However, One of my core questions was, Has he ever thought about building some of the British sports car icons mentioned above? After all, to me the thought was very natural that the folks at Superformance would move in this direction, or at least think in this direction at some point in time! I planted the seed! Maybe someday it will grow!

Oh, and i know what some of you may be thinking! Gee, that would devalue my original factory car! No way! Do you know what a Factory original Cobra or Gt 40 brings on the current market today..... just unreal! Maybe someday i will expand on this topic, but for now! Michael, New Lenox IL.
 
Interesting post. Not sure who owns the rights to the Healey design these days, last I knew it was a Chinese company. I'm not so certain that a Healey replica would be a big seller, except maybe a 100S. Unlike the Cobra replicas, which can be powered by modern motors or period correct motors, I'd think you'd have to go with a period motor for a Healey. A lot of states are making new replica builds subject to emission inspections which would be a hurdle. And there's still a ready supply of Healeys out there for anyone with enough money to buy one. The success of replica cars has been where there are a limited number of originals available and their cost exceedingly high. Add in that the Cobra was every car guy's teenage fantasy with otherworldly performance and looks. I don't think the Healey has that kind of cachet.

I was more interested to know if Lance Stander was thinking more in the line of the factory Healey and Jaguar werks race and rally cars, such as they tend to build cars of these type. I think the 100S,100M and the 2 seater big Healey werks cars, as well as the D type Jaguar would follow Superformance reproduction logic as the Gt 40, Corvette GP and the race varient of the Cobra. But, I had to ask about the street cars as well! As far as power plants, this is one question i posed to him as well as suspenion and frame questions. My thinking was High preformance prepared cars.
