If it wern't for the poor bottom-end of the 1500, it is a very much better engine to start with, using 8 ports and all. But then one can also consider further improvements like OHC, 16V etc.

There are several kits in Denmark based on the Rotrex supercharger, more in DE, SE and UK. It's advantage is size, about a quarter of that screw type compressor. Disadvantage is that it's a turbine compressor, though mechancially driven. See here for products. Though I prefer the efficiency of the screw type, it does crowd the engine compartment. Thus comments like "Snake pit".
