Supercharged Injected Sprite

What a snake-pit!!!! I'll keep mine simple, thank you! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

See, I don't get this idea (below).
What is the value of two two-bbl Webers on a car with just two intake ports?

7 port crossflow?

From that photo, it does appear to be a crossflow. But that's still an awful lot of carburetion!

defiinatly over kill with carberation
a single 45 would be heaps and a lot simpler to keep tuned
a cross flow head is cool wish i had one
as for the super charger bit messy but you got to start some where hope it works out that'll be a rocket

Well, it looks cool.

And.. I think that is an 1800 B engine

That's an A-series with the 7 port head.
The advantage isn't necessairly carburation, but as I did with my masters project, Single Port Fuel Injection!
I used such a 7 port head on a mini engine. They're expensive.
Ă…KM Racing in Denmark made them but I think some British company is working with them now.
Because you guys like pictures.

Are we looking at the same picture?

If I went with a 7-port head I think I'd do EDIS as well, esp since the distributor would be directly under the carbs.

Yikes... good point.

It uses special (I think from a Ferrari) plugs with a 10mm thread diameter and a 13mm socket size. I don't remember the number. But a socket won't come in, at least with our homemade FI manifold. We had to use an open end wrench to start them and turn them with two finger tips. They sit at a slight angle under and just to the side from the inlet manifold, and of course just above the head gasket. Of course the generator, distributor, starter and dipstick are all in the way.

Every time I think about doing individual inlet ports, I remember trying to work on that thing. I think I might just put steel plate spacers in the standard head to separate the siamese inlet ports when I get around to doing efi.

"I think I might just put steel plate spacers in the standard head to separate the siamese inlet ports when I get around to doing efi"

Really? ... Could you do that?

Road rocket indeed.

Sorry I took so long.
I'd read a page from Australia where the guy did this. I got the link from one of the guys on bcf somewhere. I had thought of it independantly, but the guy in Au apparently did it first. No results however. I don't see why it shouldn't work.

I was at a Mini meet today in Roskilde link
Lots of Minis and performance stuff that fits sprites too, including complete FI setups. All too expensive so I didn't get anything.

If anyone's interested, I'll post some pics in the mini section.

yep your right looks like a real bugger to work on
but still i have one anyway put platium plugs they'll last a while
i think a cross flow looks great
has any one gone to a efi setup ??
