Supercar Sunday 3-30-08

Cliff always posts just great photos that I stopped posting shots from Supercar Sunday long ago. Since we're talking about it in Cliff's thread, I thought I would take the point and shoot along this morning and get some snapshots.

Unfortunately I ran out of battery before it got really good. :frown:

So I pulled out the camera phone and took a few shots, then it died too. :wall:

Anyway, here are a few shots from the gathering before the sun broke out.

Are some of the same cars going to both shows?

Yes, some of the cars show up at both. Typically about 10-20% of the cars are seen at both gatherings on a regular basis. Some people including myself will visit the one closest to them, and the other only on occasion. The distance between the two is only about 50 miles, but it's all freeway driving and the busiest parts of Los Angeles are right in the middle of the route. So the early morning drive is a piece of cake, but going home sucks!

Cars & Coffee typically has 100-200 more cars, but Supercar Sunday is located next to one of the best sets of roads in Southern California. So one is a better "show" and the other offers some driving fun afterwards.

They are the perfect compliment to each other, really!

Yep - I recognize several - The polished Cobra - Woody - and a few more. But a lot of different ones also.

There is another gathering called Donut Derelicts in Huntington Beach. It also draws about 400 cars every Saturday, mostly American from the 50's through the 70's. That's a great show also.

There is one in Burbank and one in la Canada as well. Both are much smaller than either of these, but I hear they are good.

You folks who live in southern California all suck... it's snowing here today.

Thanks for the shots, Steve.
