Summers Over

Well its official. Summer is over. All we can do in NY is hope for an Indian summer. Otherwise the driving the TR6 days are numbered. The first time they spread the salt, my 6 goes up on blocks and will sit there waiting for spring. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

Jerry, you really didn't have to bring this up just yet. It's raining again here in RI (what else is new?)so I just got my buffer out and waxed the TR6 to get ready for the CCBCC British Legends weekend starting this Friday in Falmouth, MA.

Maybe by getting the rain this weekend, the next one will be nice. Yeah, right...

It's probably better that it did rain or I would have played golf this morning and nothing else would have been done.

Oooops. A thousand pardons please. Its raining in NY too but like RI what else is new. Its been a wet summer. Well at least I'm not back living in Newport and have it raining. The ocean drive is the perfect road for cruising in a 6. Ther are a lot of good crusing roads in Middletown also where I grew up.

This is a depressing thread...I vote for closing it down /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif.....But yup, it's over...I closed the pool 2day the cars are still out, and will be until I can get a truck to replace the 61 A as a DD, hopefully that happens before the snow flies....Although I'd love the look on the tire guys face "You want snow tires on THAT!?"

I do feel bad for you guys back there. The temperature the last week has been under 100 degrees so at last we can drive the cars during the day. With any luck we'll have top down weather until just after Thanksgiving. Then the sweaters and hats until toward the end of March. I sure the previous posters are glad to hear this. T.T.

It snowed here last weekend, was 25F on Monday morning. Today it warmed up to about 60. Snowed like mad yesterday.

Not ready for winter to come yet! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

As long as the road is dry, there's not a lot of salt/sand debris, and the sun is out I'll drive the 3 during the winter. I especially love the creaking and groaning of the side curtains with the top up and the wind gusts start to blow. It's also the time to hear the tool bag, tire irons, jack, tow strap, and other miscellaneous junk in the trunk start bouncing up and down. If the weather pattern gets too depressing after December then I will put her up on the stands.

Part of me is sad to see the summer go, but the other part of me is excited because it means I can get started on my winter project... new seat foam, seat covers, and carpeting for my Spit! Woohoo!

as long as its not raining I am driving the 6 most every weekend, until I pull the transmission out this winter and have it rebuilt and an overdrive added, Charlotte NC
