Summer Projects

Finished installing the new Master Cool evaporative cooler (aka swamp cooler). Boy, does this think work great! big improvement over the old cooler we replaced. Next project, which I've stated, is installing solid oak flooring in the master bedroom, the last room in the house to get a new floor. It's always something.

Ah, the joys of home ownership!

We're having sprinklers installed in the yard right now -- something we've needed to do since we moved in but there was never time or resources. That should be all wrapped up this weekend. I'll admit that I hired it out, and seeing the effort that went into it makes me even happier about writing that check.

Now we just need that summer thing to come along. High today forecast to be 60 and drizzly. Lovely.

Sprinklers is on my bucket list also, but several other projects ahead of it, like new flooring in the bathroom, (and someday a remodeled bathroom), new kitchen cabinets, new windows, etc.

I just did two new bathrooms. New tile, paint, toilets, vanities, sinks, fixtures, etc.

I subbed out the tile floor to a friend.....my old knees have too many miles on them for that stuff.

Last week I removed a lot of old or dead shrubs and cleaned out our mulch beds. I need to get about 5 yards of mulch plus some new shrubs: I'll do that after the Pittsburgh races.

I plan on re-sealing the driveway too. And tightening up some of the gutters.

Right now, I'm painting the Sprite: priorities.

List never ends, does it. We're still finishing up the yard project and my wife's already making noise about new kitchen counters...

Women are never satisfied. (My apologies to the ladies on the forum)

We have a nice home, not sure why she wants to keep changing. I guess guys can be satisfied with 20 year old carpet and bathroom counter tops that still look good but are as old as the house.

My main summer "project" has been to find a job! And, thanks to one of the members HERE, I may be completing that "project" in the very near future!! I'll let you know....

What are you looking for in employment? The reason I ask is that I had a potential equity partner flake out on me. I have a nearly turn key company that needs business management.

I installed fake grass about a year ago. Complete with a small percentage of yellowed grass so that it looks "right" No need for sprinkler, mowing, I just vacuum it every so often.

Yiz!!! You're my HERO!!!

...where can I get that stuff over here??!?!

Now that makes for an interesting picture. Firstly "male", then pushing wind tunnel hoover, and then in the yard. Sounds very male to me. tee, hee.

We're getting very excited. Sod was delivered yesterday, should be mostly down today. I'll admit that I've never regretted writing the check to have this done. I'd still be trying to get everything leveled and graded. Hot dirty work.

School behind you Drew?

Yup, elementary school is our neighbor. We love having that field there -- when the kids are there we're at work, and otherwise it's a nice buffer that helps preserve the view.
