My BJ7 is painted beige . Beige was a color that was offered on the BJ7, mine is not the correct Healey beige. Did Healey offer a two tone paint in the beige? If so, what were the colors?

Thsnks for your input.

Ray, There was never a big Healey offered in beige. There was Ivory (Old English White) best described as a warm creamy white, and for 2 months in Dec. 53 / Jan. 54 there was Coronet Cream that might be thought of as a beige. Early Sprites had a colour called Nevada Beige, but that's as close as it came.

No not so richch, there is one reportedly done to the Queens concours standard that is beige and the owner detests it.---Keoke

I don’t know if it’s comprehensive. Someone else more knowledgeable can comment.

Can someone provide me with the color formula for ivory white? I am planning to use the white under the beige.

Thanks

What color is the interior?
IMHO a more contrasting color would work better.

The best guide is "Austin Healey- Guide to Historic Colors" by Don Pikovnik, published by Coloramic Process (440-275-1199), but I think its now out-of-print/stock; though you may get a used copy on e-bay or through a used bookseller (www.abe.com for example).

It doesn't have the formula for the paint, but it does provide paint codes that may help, and it reproduces paint chips than could be matched.....

Its also a pretty comprehensive guide to the colors available and when they were used.

Hi Rich!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif It's good to see you here. I just was going through some back issues of Healey Highlights and read the issue where Reid stopped the presses to tell about the BN3/4 find. Good reading.

Hopefully you can use these pages to post some of those great pictures on originality that you can't do on the team.net list.

it looks well done, but the colors look like a barbie car. Not manly, like your rust colored Healey, Anthony.

shg, continue driving your very nice car and perhaps it will give you the confidence to get in touch with your feminine side! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Per Donald Pikovnik's book (Austin-Healey Guide to Historic Colors)Old English White is WT.03 or ICI-2379 aka "Ivory". The paint shop I used cross referenced those numbers and found an exact match. I'm pleased with the color, during the bright sunlight it's white, less light more of an Ivory.
