Suggestion for a useful service

I was thinking earlier that I need a fiberglass and paint shop in my area that is used to dealing with classic (or at least *old* cars). The new toy is coming and it needs a paint job and a little glass work inside the hood.

This got me thinking that the one thing I'm always looking for is someone local to do *something* that I don't have the time, inclination or ability to do.

I thought this would be a really useful resource if arranged by geographical region and specialty.

Surely I'm not the only one that would find this useful?

Oh and if anyone has a suggestion for me I'm all ears. I was thinking about taking a drive down to the 'vette place 20 minutes away and seeing who they use...

Also the other major user of fibreglass is the motorboat industry, don't forget about them...

A friend of mine was restoring a Jensen 541 awhile back (also fibreglass) and he got a few ideas for body repair from both Corvette shops and the boating shops, although in his case I believe the type (or thickness?) of the fibreglass was unique to his Jensen...

alana, you might want to try this, just for the heck of it i googled "fiberglass repair in 06903 area" the 06903 is my area code, it gave me a list of every one that does this kind of work. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

I tried that - I get a lot of stuff in Alberta Canada, but zilch in Cortlandt Manor...

Alana, just tried your zip code i see what ya mean, unless you have a bullet hole in your fiberglass bath tub or need a tune up on a baby grand piano you may as well move out of Cortlandt. might be time to start a new business. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

Or move to Alberta, Canada!
Hey, that's where I live, well what do you know!
