SUGAR SCOOPS

OK, I checked back and no one seems to have asked or answered this one before. What is the "proper" color for the covered headlight "sugar scoops" on series 1 e types? I see some that are "silverish" and some that are body color.
Thanks
Jim

Looking at original articles from the 60's and the E-type originality guide seems to indicate a silver color like Hammerrite.

The first thousand cars or so had painted scoops with the car color. They then went to a silver hammerite.
