Success -- a pile of rear end bits

They are easy enough to change, so trying each should be simple enough. I've change these rear diffs so many times, I could do it in my sleep /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
 
Each speedo will be calibrated for each diff too Drew, so you'll need to switch those too, I think.
 
Before taking the bugeye all apart I exchanged the origional 4.22 for the 3.9. I have the 5 speed conv. and have changed speedo's for the later midget, so the speed is correct ( I've gpsed it). The bugeye is a lot less busy at 75 to 80 mph and just is more comfortable. I'm really looking forward to this next summer, potentially changing to the 4.22, and 3.7 just to see the difference. Once you've done it, it really isn't a mistery, in fact quite simple.
 
My speedo will actually read the same for every rear end. It's a special one, that reads a remarkably consistent zero at every speed! It's on the list some for some day... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Once the 1275 is in, I'll have some fun with these experiments.
 
You will need to change the gear in the transmission that the speedometer cable attaches to in order to correct the speed indicated on your new working speedometer when you change rear end ratios. They should come with different numbers of teeth for the various ratio rear ends. Phil
