Substitute & Interchangeable Parts

I have not seen one, however we all know of an item or two that crosses.

Such as Accel #3009 spark plug set, one set makes two for a Spridget, Yellow with plug end molded in rubber.

There are a few actually.

Starter

Flasher

Stop light switch

Glass running lights are on lots of stuff.

License plate plinth and glass are also used on AC Cobra, since that was the original part on the AC Bristol. Also the glass front turn signal 'beehives' are standard on many cars. Trunk fastening handle is the same on many cars for the Mk1 Midget Mk2 Sprite and newer.
I love rolling up on a Cobra with one of my kids in the passenger seat of my car and pointing out the plate light, they see it and say "that's the same as the one on your car!".

great idea - might be worth keeping it local on the Wiki for one stop shopping.

There's already some info on this in the Wiki. I entered a bunch of it, but I was thinking primarily of frequently-replaced parts, like tune-up parts, bearings, and such. It could be expanded to include more of the latter and things like trim parts. The Bugeye, for example, uses a lot of parts from other MGs; that was done on purpose, to keep it cheap to manufacture.

Rear view mirror same as Cobra.
