I know it's a little late for St. Patty's Day, but here's a video that was posted yesterday... And yes folks, there are still some Subaru 360's left, and some people even drive them around!

And there are more Subaru 360 videos on his photostream...

Thanks James!,

Portland has a lot of cool roads (& bridges).
Does anyone in Southern California remember FasTrack?
It was just outside of OCIR,a dirt track,360's with
a "wrap around" roll bar.$1 a lap,if IRC.

Neat!

I honestly never realized that the Subaru 360 had a two-stroke engine.....learned something new!

That bridge is actually in Oregon, right?

...and it's never too late for St. Pat's day. Our parade (the biggest in NJ) was cancelled (weather) and we're holding it April 10!

As I've always said we don't even get a St. Patrick's parade here, it just doesn't seem to be much of a tradition in western Canada... Of course the bars here still gear up for the day with lots of green beer...

I remember those POS cars.
I test-drove a new one.

55 MPH, downhill with a tailwind being pushed by a Model "T" Ford.

They were called suBARus, and they were a miserable failure.
Pulled them off the market, re-engineered them to pancake 4's, re-introduced as subarus (same spelling, different emphasis).

Messerschmitts were out about the same time, if I recall.

At least that's what I recall in SoCal.....

Probably worked out okay in more "rural" areas where they didn't have freeways all over the place.

You shoulda tried one of the "vans".

I liked the add-on tach....the "break-in 33403", which generally means, to me, that it had to have a new engine at about 30K.

Neat defroster....I don't recall that, but, hey, in SoCal, cars in the early years had heaters as an option.
