Does anyone know where to get some SU glad washers/ cork seal moss part (295-200) for a tr3. The ones I got from Moss are a bad joke. Or has anyone purchased the whole jet bearing kit from Moss (370-395)? Is the kit form England, perhaps SU? Does the TRF sell the washers separate? Or lastly, has anyone invented/created their own.

Check with Joe Curto. (718)762-7878.

Moss also has O-ring replacements that the sell in place of the cork seals:
'365-420 $1.45 O-RING (leak-free replacement for #295-200)'
I used them last fall when I replaced the seals on my Su's to fix a fuel leak from the jets. They seemed to work well.

Aloha,

I find that if you soak the cork seals in oil over night they become more pliable and less likely to break when installing them. I have also used o-rings as a replacement to the cork seals. They are very effective in stopping fuel leaks and have the advantage of not drying out if the car sits for a long time. The disadvantage is that choke operation can be difficult because the o-rings tend to grip the jet tighter than the cork seals. About ten years ago I bought some o-rings coated with silicone to solve the sticky chock problem. If you don't use the chock to start the engine, this become a non issue.

I just bought the ones from Moss. Choke worked fine after replacing the springs and polishing the jets.

I've lost track of how long they were on the car, but it was a long time; much longer than the cork seals ever lasted for me (2-3 years tops).
