SU throttle shafts and carb rebuild

Offline
I'm in the middle of rebuilding some carbs for my BJ7. I have several sets, two triple carb sets , a couple of HD8 and several 1 3/4 pairs. I want to try different carb set ups to see the difference in performance, econmy and over throttle response. Something I always wanted to do 35 years ago while in college but never had the resources.
Anyway, most of the throttle shafts appear worn some are only .001 but many are .003-.004. Does this constitute new throttle shafts? New bushings? Should I go oversize throttle shafts or can I just go standard and put in new bushings? Do I need new bushings if I install new throttle shafts? Thanks in advance.

Generally you canjust go standard and put in new bushings? For HD8 carbs

Do I need new bushings if I install new throttle shafts?

If the shafts are worn too you can use new standard shafts and new 0.015 standard bushings.-----Keoke-- :driving:

Thanks in advance.
