Recently had carbs rebuilt and my car is starting hard.

Do both front and rear carburetor choke levers have to be pulled up equally when choke is pulled?

Front carb pulls up all the way, but the rear carb does not.

The carbs having been rebuilt, the arms (and jets) should be moving freely in which case you should adjust the rear cable to take up any slack. The arms returning equally (and thoroughly) is just as important. I use the pen spring method (below) but I'm sure other styles would work too. The picture in the link shows where the cable gets adjusted as well.

Car always started hard. Had carbs rebuilt and ran very lean, ran better with dirty carbs. Adjusted rear jet arm so that it moved up higher when choke cable pulled. Started immediately, what a difference. Springs are attached and pull the arms back. I like the look of the pen method. Thanks, Ed
