All:

I have a pair of HS2 carbs. I purchased a rebuild kit from British Parts Northwest (highly recommend) and it included a replacement needle that has a flange near the end (not the tip end0. I loosened and removed the set screw from the side of the piston, but the needle did not slide out. The needle moves in slightly against a spring, but won't come free. Can someone explain to me the method for removing this type needle?

Thanks,

Mike

What you have is a self centering needle it should just pull out
along with the greyish barrel that the side screw was against.
