SU Fuel pump identification

I have AH BJ7 (HBJ7 L/ 20191) that I'm currently restoring. When it came to rebuilding the fuel pump I noticed a tag on the body listing the pump as a AUF 305. I've never heard of such a pump. Could someone enlighten me as to whether this pump belongs on the car? The car left the factory as a European equipped car if that makes a difference. It was sent to Dusseldorf Germany. All my usual references state the car should have a AUF 301.

Hi Johnny,

I think the AUF 305 is for positive ground and AUF 300 is negative ground for the later (late BJ8) round type fuel pump. Your BJ7 originally had a square body, positive ground pump which I think is the AUF 301. Most likely a PO replaced the 301 with a 305 since they are much less expensive.

Cheers,
John

Hi Johnny, The old number system for the SU fuel pumps has been replaced with a universal batch number. You will be using the 1300 series pump. Just make sure which ground system is in your car when you order. My cars are all negative GND, so I utilize the 1307ZX which is the electronic version for NEG GND applications .--Fwiw---Keoke

P.S. The correct "Points Type" pump for your car is: AZX1307.

Thanks to John and Keoke for responding. I knew I could get help on this question. The AUF305 most likely is for the positive grounded car. It appears to be the original pump, but who knows. I'll try and get the correct one as Keoke suggests. Thanks again.
