SU Education

After chatting with Hap today, I realized I need to do some serious education on my SU's. What literature/resource have you guys found to be the most accurate and educational?

Two tools I use are a synchronization tool (basically a vacuum gauge that goes over the opening to the carb) and the Gunson Colortune spark plug to adjust mixture. Like you, though, I think getting an education on the internal workings of the SU carbs is definitely a worthy pursuit

Thanks for the links. Carbs have always puzzled me, but after talking to Hap, I want to dive in and really understand this subject. I'm also thinking an a/f meter would be a useful tool to mounted in the car.

The SU is the best carb to learn about carburation
its a work of art in its simplicity
one jet and needle can it get any better
i hope you have as much fun with learning about it as I did
SU make it SING!
when I was doing carbs I found that Joe Curto in NY is a great source for parts and tons of know how
he has some good info on his web site joecurto.com
