SU centering tool

Hi Folks,
Does anyone out there have a centering tool? and if so could you tell me the diameters and lengths? It is just a special pin ?? May be a brief description of how it is used?

i orderd one but i am afraid it wont be here by the weekend. I would like to make one tomorrow at work.

Jet centering tool.
The SU piston with needle is removed & the lid put back on & tightened down. The tool is inserted through the top damper hole & into the loosened jet. The jet is tightened to be concentric with the carb housing.

The pin for a H6 carb would be Aluminum or brass, about 6" long, with about a 1/2" long step down to jet size on the end. The main diameter would be .499" & the step .099" for the .100" jet.

The H4 series carbs use a .090 jet & the step down would be .089" diameter. Not sure about the body diameter.

You can accomplish very much the same by screwing the jet adjuster all of the way up, loosening the jet lock nut, pushing the piston with needle firmly down into the jet, & tightening the jet. Push the piston down with a pencil through the top cap hole. You don't need to remove the piston. Since the largest step on the needle is usually .001" to .003" under jet size, this method will pretty much center the jet. I have used both methods & the later, easier method works as well.
