I'm rebuilding a set of SU's for my mom's '68 Midget to put it back to stock (currently has the 32/36 Weber DGV) I have the carb stripped all the way down and have been polishing the parts as I go. All the individual parts are practically mirrored at this point but now I'm down to the carb body itself and I was wondering what I can soak it in. Something that's not to expensive so that I can poor a bunch in a container and let it dissolve away the build-up. Any suggestions? Perhaps paint thinner? -mineral spirits? -carb cleaner? Carb cleaner seems like it would be too expensive to get a large enough quantity to "bathe" the carb body and as far as I know it only comes in aerosol cans. thanks!
