Any recommendations for air cleaners on the SU carbs on my 1965 mgb?
thanks

In my experience SUs are not especially fussy compared to others (ZS for instance)

I have this and it works fine - but there are many options. Go with what looks cool and fits!

I would stick to the factory set up, as the alloy bit is designed as a velocity stack of sorts.
I am not a fan of any foam based air cleaners, as they are a fire risk.

I think stock has better air control as stated MKI. You can also install a heat shield to keep temp down. Madflyer

I like K&Ns more than anything else I’ve tried. Not the best filtration, but I love the intake sound.

I've found that the foam ones usually deteriorate. K&N or the stock ones would be better, IMO.

This is what is on my 68 GT. The heatshield is still in place.

How is foam a fire risk?

See photo in post #7.

On E-Bay, a guy named BB Bullock (selling as namvet6970) sells nice velocity stacks for the SU HS6 carbs, but they also work with the SU H6 carbs. The air filters are K & N RU4410. It is a sweet set up.

They are hard to find on E-Bay. Best do an advanced search for his E-bay store - namvet6970

In these pictures it is the set up on the right. Here I was converting over my engine to this setup.
