I was surfing around looking for info on wild fires and ran across this clip.

The field reporter in this clip grew up across the street from us in West Virginia. Her brother was my best grade school friend and my sister used to babysit the Gregg kids. We all used to go trick or treating together. Several years ago she was an Anchor in Springfield, MO and ended up becoming the news and not just reporting it.
One evening she and her boyfriend at the time returned to her apartment. As I remember the story (which was published in the St Louis Paper of record) she went into her bedroom to change and an intruder, who was hiding in the closet, jumped out and attacked her. Luckily, her boyfriend was armed and caused the attacker to assume room temperature. I don't know if that was why she ultimately left the anchor chair and became a field reporter, but I suspect it may have played a role.
