Stubborn Screws on My TR-2 Windscreen Frame

Has anyone learned any tricks for getting out the screws that attach the side pieces to the widscreen frame? I've managed to get one out of 6 out so far. Since I'm dealing with chrome here, I'm thinking heat is not an option. The slots on the screws are getting chewed up, so I'm not sure what to try next. I've blasted them with PB for 3 days now, but still no luck.

I tryed using different pentrating oils, but still had to drill the heads off. Was able to use vise gripes on the stem after the mounts were out of the way.

If they get all mangled up then donbmws solution is about the only option.
Once you drill the heads off (they actually drill pretty easy)and pull the side frame off, there is a pretty good lenghth of the screw sticking out of the frame to grab on to with the vice grips.
This sounds kinda stinky, but it's better than replacing the broken glass after using an impact driver or too much heat.
Try to take note of the lengths of the screws. There are a couple of options from Moss, and if you put in the wrong ones when you put it all back togeather it can also break the glass
