TR6 Stronger hood release?

Just a thought sometime during the night. The previous owner added a 'backup' wire to open the hood that is tucked away under the passenger dash, but I was thinking, couldn't I use the existing wire/cable to pull through a stronger one and then never worry about it again?

Thoughts anyone? Thx.
 
Be thankful that there’s a backup installed. One day when the existing cable breaks you will be thanking the previous owner who installed it. You refer to a “backup wire” that goes into the passenger compartment. Most backup hood releases that I’ve seen have a metal rod that activates the hood release mechanism. See pic…
