Hi, everybody, I became a member today, I just bought a 73 spitfire, it failed emmissions do to hcs idle reading also co loaded and idle, timing is set. Do Ineed to get a carburater mixture adjusting tool to ajust the mixture, where can I get one. I have a Haynes manual, and I'm trying to understand it as much that I can /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
 
Yes, either buy or borrow an adjusting tool. Just sticking an allen wrench down in there will tear the piston diaphram. The tool allows you to hold the piston in place while cranking the needle up or down.
They are available through Moss or Victoria British.
