Apparently, it's legal there.

I wonder if Oscar Kovaleski knows about this?

Across the US dragstrips often open up to similar types of events. Street legal cars, controlled environments etc... Often in cooperation with local law enforcement to try and cut down on street racing.

Bandemere Speedway in Morrison (just outside of Denver) often hosts events like this. The police department in Arvada, another Denver suburb, used to have a sub 12 second (1/4 mile) 1967 Camaro with full police paint, decals, lights etc... They would bring it to these events and you could race the "Arvada Race-a-cop". I'm not sure if they still have that car, its been quite a while since I have been to one of those events.

Best street racer they have is a kid named Robert Kubica (sp?)...he just won his first "street race" up in Canada last weekend!!

PS I thought Oscar was just President of the American Chapter of the PRA!
